Wordsley Girls show enterprise in Construction

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Today, all girls in year 9 took part in an enterprise day led by industry representatives for the construction sector. Local construction professionals spent the entire day in the business suite giving the girls an insight into careers in the industry. The pupils were split into groups and explored all the different aspects of designing and managing a construction project. The groups were introduced to careers such as building design, project management, financial budgeting and quantity surveying as they produced a proposal to build their ideal four bedroom house. Our visiting experts were extremely impressed with the way our girls rose to the challenge.

New Animation Club!

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

The Wordsley School ICT department is pleased to announce the start of a brand new animation club open to all Key Stage 3 pupils. Pupils are learning how to create animation using industry standard Macromedia/Adobe Flash. The club is being run by former pupil Martyn Bullock who is currently studying animation at University.  “Animation and multimedia products are all around us. Many employers seek people with the skills that these pupils are developing whilst having fun at the club.”
